Hi Beth. Thank you for your kind words - hearing things like that always make me feel like some good has come out if this for me :-) It's rubbish that you have to join this select group we're part of, but you can get through this! I am a huge advocate of a positive mindset. Always try to find the good in every situation - it's way better than dwelling on the negative (and there can be a lot of that!). I wish you well in your treatment, and I'm always happy to answer questions and help if I can!

Hi Josie
Thank you for sharing your journey! I'm Stage 3, grade 3 TNBC with lymph nodes involvement and Brca2 mutation. So im having the Bilateral Mesectomy in April 2021. I will have expanders put in the same time but reconstruction in October because I have to complete rounds of radiation. Needless to say I've had so many thoughts and feelings, however finding your story is now my inspiration. Thank you!!

That sounds about the same timeframe I've been given. I have my first fill on Monday. Glad to be moving forward!

Sorry - I just saw your response. I see the plastic surgeon at the end of this month so I'll see what he says. I do know he said it would be 2-3 months after the last fill (which was December 13th).

That doesn't sound like fun Mia. I am so glad that it has improved for you. I have to admit, the expanders are definitely not the most comfortable things in the world. I'm not really a fan of the feeling when I walk, but it's not overly painful. I am most uncomfortable when I first wake up. Everything aches a bit until I get up and moving. Once upright I feel much better. I am already eagerly waiting until I can swap to my implants, but that's at least three months away yet. I hope I just get used to the expanders. Do you know how long it will be until your exchange surgery?

My bilateral mastectomy with tissue expanders was 10/29/19. I didn't do as well as you seem to be doing. The tissue expanders were the most painful thing and I had pain for 6 weeks. Walking hurt them. Barely moving hurt them. It felt like they rubbing against an open wound. This was daily. I cried daily in frustration. But the last few weeks are finally better and this past week, I have felt fantastic. The tissue expanders are still weird feeling but at least they don't hurt anymore.
